Newport West Post 16 Pathways Evening

On Wednesday 29th February 2012 the Newport West Post 16 Partnership will be holding its joint pathways evening.

All partner institutions including Bassaleg School, Coleg Gwent, Duffryn High School, Newport High School and St Joseph’s RC High School will be present, and all of the 40 or more subjects that are on offer this year will be represented during the evening.

This is a great chance to learn more about our exciting new Newport West Post 16 Partnership as well as giving learners an opportunity to find out more about the huge range of courses on offer and to talk to the actual teachers who will be delivering those courses.

The event will be open between  4.30 – 7.00 pm and will be located in the Main Hall of the Christchurch Centre, Old Maplas Road,  Newport, NP20 5PP.

Welcome to Newport West Post 16 Partnership

Welcome to the Newport West Post-16 Partnership. The Partnership is a collaboration that brings together 4 of the city’s schools and Coleg Gwent.

The Newport West  Post-16 Partnership allows students to benefit from being based in their home school with staff, routines and support that they know and are used to, whilst allowing them to travel to partner institutions to experience a broad range of courses. This gives students an excellent introduction to working in different environments. By working together we are able to offer all our students one of the best ranges of courses in Wales.

The Newport West  Post-16 Partnership operates a common timetable across the town with courses in 5 blocks of time. This enables students to choose from a very wide, coordinated, programme of study. Our collaboration also means that staff work closely together and have the opportunity to share good practice and professional development with colleagues in other centres.

The Newport West  Post-16 Partnership puts the student at the heart of our collaboration. It is committed to providing high quality individual advice and guidance to our students, shared curriculum planning and delivery of our courses that are designed to facilitate learning.

We want you to enjoy your Post 16 study, but most of all for you to be successful in order for you to pursue your next step to employment or Higher Education. We believe the care and advice we offer to all students in order to achieve these aims is second to none.
